New Year - New Background :-)

While following all the fun links I realized some of the pages had backgrounds different than what Blogger offers and I liked them better, they were more creative! I'm thinking I can make my own background with my own art...as soon as I can figure out how to write the code for it, obviously this can be done! :-)

Good - bye tree

Bryce's kitty kat - Cooper was up in the tree that was due to be cut down the next morning. He just had to be rescued!

Mission accomplished. Cooper was safely retrieved from the doomed tree! Peace is once again reining at our house!

Our poor Globe Willow tree was old. We had a really intense ice storm last year and the tree just didn't make it back this spring...The main branch had 3 major cracks in it and looked like it would fall on the house with the first windy day. We get some crazy windy days around here too!

Take note of the guy at the top of the tree in the picture above (you can click on the picture to see him better). He was kinda of a show off... he knew we were watching him! None the less, he really knew what he was doing and did a great job!

The tree is gone now and after being so sad about losing it I had to admit I really like how it opened up our yard. It looks like there will be all kinds of things we can do to pretty it up!

We ran for our lives!

Earlier this morning Bryce and I were having a blast looking for some neat stuff to make a few more crayon rubbings for another GPP Street Team project when an extremely loud noise and a blindingly bright flash of light hit the ground so hard it made the hair on our necks stand straight up on end! I told Bryce we couldn't go near it until we called Grandpa John. But Bryce being the adventurous soul he is he decided we needed to sneak a look before I made the phone call. We found a strange nest in the trees near the back fence that leads to the empty field where the light hit. It was glowing and began to make a noise I can't even begin to describe! I got this photo before we ran for our lives!

Actually, playing around with some Photo Shop layers I made a quick digital picture to capture this shot!

Joint project with my son Brian

Brian is always ready to dress up for an occasion and I'm always ready to help him out ! Actually both my sons Brian and Sean have been willing to let me dress them up in some pretty great costumes over the years for Halloween and for other various parties!

Brian's get-up this time was "old Gregg"!

I had so much fun with Brian designing an Old Gregg costume. This seems a bit silly and yes...it was! We both will remember the fun we had together for this project for a very long time and to me that's priceless! It won't be long at all before he'll be moving out to start his own adult life. I know we will still have fun in the years to come but right now he's still my little boy!

The hair was made of plastic sea weed from the pet supply store for fish tanks. I sewed it to a black cap and added green ribbon and torn scraps for texture. I covered an old sweat shirt with silver fabric and not seen in the photo Brian is wearing a pink Tutu, green tights and white boots! It was so flippin" funny!

I was playing around with Photo Shop and digitally altered the photo of Brian as Old Gregg and this is what I came up with...WOW!!!
