Art Journaling

I found a new Yahoo group, that seems pretty neat...so I joined it. I am ready for a new challenge. Something to stimulate my mind, my creativity and my soul. In a positive way I might add, thank you very much!

Blah, blah, blah. Blah blah blah blah blah, blah. You know what I mean, don't you? :-)

I decided to start with the new Soul Journal prompt called:
Soul Journal - Instant Gratification
The link above is the tutorial I followed if you'd like to go and give it a try too.
This is what I came up with

At the time I was in the "mood" all I had with me is my black pen and sketch pad. I'd like to try it with collage and color next time.

I love the looks of this style of art journal-ing.

How fun is that!

Question: What is on your curtain behind you?

In the "How to sew a creatures face" video that John and I made Viewers could see a large spider hanging on the curtain behind me. This is a Halloween hat I made last year. I thought you'd like to see him up close...

I use an old black head band type hat most likely from the 50's or so. Although it was torn up and tattered it still had the netting and rhinestones. Actually, this came in handy for the over all "spooky" look I was needing for this hat!

Kinda cute huh?

Vote 2008

I was at Borders book store and behind the counter I saw all these special ordered Eckhart Tolle
"The New Earth" books...
right here in Wichita, Kansas!

Then to my surprised delight,

I see this bumper sticker...right here in Wichita, Kansas!

I'm feeling the new thoughts happening...
RIGHT HERE IN WICHITA, KANSAS!

This is one of the most important elections our nation has faced in decades and the days are passing by faster than we ever imagined. Our economic welfare, national security and the state of the union will be in the hands of the man all you put into office.

My 2 cents...

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip that started from this tropic port aboard this tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailing man, the skipper brave and sure. Five passengers set sail that day for a three hour tour, a three hour tour. The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed, if not for the courage of the fearless crew the Minnow would be lost, the Minnow would be lost.
